Five "Make and Eat" Ideas For A Kids Parties

Parents tend to be terrified at the thought of planning a party for their child. Thoughts of children getting bored, not getting the right kind (or amount) of food and just making everything look like a mess come to mind which is why parents sometime opt for cookie-cutter parties at food places. But the thing is, it is possible to not spend too much and still have the children enjoy a party.

Below are 5 “make and eat” ideas that will help the children get their hands busy, have fun learning/making something and eating it too. And as a bonus, you can even showcase their designs and have grown-up guests be “judges”. Of course, all of them should get a prize for their great efforts.

1. Cookie or cupcake decorating workshop

Decorating a cupcake or cookie is probably the most popular way of getting kids involved in something that they eat. It is pretty easy to set-up too.

Prepare a table with the following:

• Ready-made cookies or cupcakes (cooled)
• Frosting
• Sprinkles, chocolate chips
• Child-safe utensils
• aprons

2. Pizza making workshop

Pizza is not a really a junk food. Having a pizza making workshop is a great fun opportunity for bounce house rentals North Port FL to learn about the different food groups that go into such a yummy pizza. Have the ingredients prepared beforehand so all the children have to do is assemble. If you have older ones coming, they could try their hand at making dough as well. Making the children wear aprons and chef’s hat adds to the feel of it too. You can give the children cookie-cutters for the pepperoni and ham if they want added shapes on their pizza. As a bonus, you can give a prize to the best pizza decoration, the most vegetables or even the best one at following your instructions. Really, the categories are up to you.

3. Snow Cone Color and Taste Contest

Children love snow cones. Making snow cones can be a great sensory activity for young children. It’s a cool way for them to learn about and play with colors and tastes. Rent a snow cone concessionaire, introduce the children to the colors and flavors and let them mix away. Or you can even have children take turns at the “snow cone shop” as pretend vendors.

4. Bento box or food plating contest

Older children who are looking for more food fun can enjoy. Give them ample time to plan and prepare ingredients for them to use. You can even ask for them to work in pairs of teams. For added value, you can talk a little bit about nutrition and healthy food does not have to be boring. The extra perk? After your party at home, your young guests can prepare their own snacks at home.

Inflatables Slide Rentals

It is hard to find a kid that doesn't like slides, and when you search for inflatable slide rentals, you are looking for a way to bring something to your party that will add fun and excitement that will keep every kid happy.

Why Kids Like Inflatable Slides?

Slides at the regular park are fun, but inflatable slides are like bringing an amusement park straight to the party. They are softer than normal slides, and they have a little bounce to them at the end, and all of this equals one thing for any kid: fun.

Inflatable slides are also unique in appearance. There are a wide variety of themes you can choose from to help increase the fun kids have on the slides.

For instance, you can rent a Tsunami slide with two lanes to give kids the feeling they are racing each other in the water as a wave threatens to engulf them. This adds excitement and challenge as the kids try to beat their opponent and the wave.

You can even rent a slide that offers a little more challenge, such as the Dual Lane Camo Obstacle Slide. This slide will have kids competing through a real army test drill to see who can get to the top and the bottom the fastest. This slide is fierce at 22 feet, and it comes with its very own drill sergeant overlooking the kids to see how well they are doing.

Or you can test your kid's rock climbing skills by renting a 15 foot Rock Wall Dual Lane Slide. Kids will challenge themselves on the rock wall and feel proud when they reach the top, then they will enjoy themselves as they slide down as a reward. This slide has two lanes so that kids are not stuck at the top of the rock wall waiting for their turn.

What Type Of Slide Should You Rent?

If you are going to have a lot of kids at the party, then renting an inflatable slide with two lanes is imperative. If you rent one with only one lane, then there could be fights and tension among the kids as they all try to take their turn on the slide. Do not underestimate the excitement that an inflatable slide will bring to the party. All kids will want to have a turn (or 100) on the slide.

Of course, you can also rent a slide that has something else, such as an obstacle course, attached to it. This will keep some kids busy getting to the slide and reduce the line up that could result from easy and quick access to the top of the slide.

However, if your party is only going to have a few kids in attendance, then renting a slide with one lane will probably be okay. As long as the line keeps moving, kids will jump around with excitement and get to slide down before that excitement turns into anxiety.

In the end, if you are going to have kids at your party, then tent rentals York SC is a smart thing to do! The slide will keep the kids entertained, burn off their energy, and ensure they feel as though the party was a hit no matter what else happened.
